Best Practices for Presenting Posters

Graduate students in Computer Science at Dartmouth College presented best practices for research presentations to undergraduate students preparing for their own research presentations at the 2025 Wetterhahn Science Symposium. The graduate students, one of whom is a SPLICE team member, modeled good group dynamics and introduced the undergraduates to the do’s and don’ts of poster design and presentation.

Many of the undergraduate students have never presented posters before, so the guidance from experienced researchers was helpful in setting good standards. The graduate students put an approachable and human face on what can be a nerve-wracking experience for rising scholars!

See below for a picture from the event and for a printable resource summarizing poster design and presentation tips. The printable resource is courtesy of Sarah Friday.
