PI Landau on Communicating to Policymakers

Dr. Susan Landau’s keynote lecture at the 29th International Workshop on Security Protocols focused on the key elements of effective communication of technical issues to policy makers.

Landau highlights the need to understand your audience — their concerns, priorities, and expertise. Researchers need to explain technical problems in a manner that is accessible to the audience and relevant to their concerns and priorities. By bringing policymakers into the conversation, and helping them understand the impact of key decisions, scientists can amplify the impact of their work.

An edited version of Landau’s talk will appear in the workshop proceedings later this year. To stay up-to-date with SPLICE happenings, subscribe to the blog!
