Dr. Susan Landau’s career began in mathematics, then shifted to theoretical computer science, then cybersecurity policy. Traversing these fields, her career spans industry and academia. PI Landau’s work has impacted law and policy as privacy regulators, Congress, and industry have made decisions that protect consumer privacy and safeguard national security from publications and testimonies.
In 2024, PI Landau was awarded the Bertrand Russell Prize from the American Mathematical Society, recognizing her research and service contributions focused on promoting good in the world. PI Landau recently sat down with the Notices of the AMS for an interview about her career.
