SPLICE at MSU- Recognized for Innovation

Morgan State University’s Division of Research and Economic Development recognizes SPLICE members, PI Kevin Kornegay and Dr. Hailu Belay, for their innovation by announcing them as 2021 Innovation of the Year Award recipients.

Dr. Hailu Belay and Dr. Kornegay’s Smart Antenna System was recognized with an Intellectual Property Innovation Award. This award recognizes individuals who have created innovations in their respective research fields. Awards are granted based on the innovation’s potential benefit to society, the improvement over existing technology, and commercial potential.

Dr. Kornegay and Dr. Willie Thompson’s patent for a decentralized root-of-trust framework for heterogeneous networks (U.S. Patent #10,831,894) received a Patent Award.
